Niki de Saint Phalle

Niki de Saint Phalle was a model, then painter, sculptor, costume and set designer, and all around hipster within the European art scene of the 50s and 60s.  She was young, beautiful, talented, and oh so alluring.  de Saint Phalle was a friend and collaborator to the likes of artists like Brancusi, Duchamp, and Dali, and a wife to Swiss painter and sculptor Jean Tinguely.  The girl was in it to win it, and she made it …

Then there is the Tarot Sculpture Garden she crafted in the hills of Tuscany.  The park contains super-sized sculptures of the images found on tarot cards, and took more than twenty years to complete.  Pretty monumental.
