Doug Henning brought magic to the masses in the 70s. Before Copperfield, Blaine, or Angel there was Doug Henning, only his costumes and poses were WAY better!
On a cold, wintry night last year I went to the Presidential Suite at the Waldorf Astoria. I was told that I would be going to a magic show, but what I watched was so much more than that! Steve Cohen‘s Chamber Magic is a show of tricks that will absolutely blow your mind and leave you with your mouth open and a look of absolute shock on your face. It is magic like I had never seen before, and will most likely never see again. There are no explosions or disappearing acts, no smoke or rabbits, and the show is not performed in a giant amphitheater where a magician so far away you can’t even see his hands (there are only 50 people allowed at each show). Instead, Chamber Magic is an upfront magic show of tricks that baffle the mind and leave you thinking that Steve Cohen must truly have magical powers.
Tickets aren’t cheap at $75, but I assure you that it is a treat that is well worth the money.
Waldorf Towers at the Waldorf-Astoria, Sat 2pm, 7pm, 9pm; Sun 7pm, 9pm.
